Your choice of individuals in strange to me. Lesley Riddoch supports only the SNP and not the greater YES movement as far as I can see, and Alan Bissett is busy with family and hasn't been around the YES movement for a long time. I have no objections to either beyond this though, but there are many, many others doing great things for the movement right now, such as Sara Salyers, Peter Bell, Jim Sillars, Jason Baird of the IndyApp, Barrhead Boy and all those on Through a Scottish Prism, there is Kenny MacAskill whose dedication to Independence can never be questioned, Neale Hanvey, Joanna Cherry, the AUOB team, Craig Murray, Alf Baird, Wings over Scotland and many more. All these are working hard to keep the movement alive, and yet you don't mention them. Everyone needs to work together, not "pro-SNP" or "anti-SNP" but everyone who truly cares for this country's future and is willing to applaud and encourage all the efforts of those pushing forward.

The People's Assembly's avatar

We recognise and respect the continued efforts of many prominent independence advocates, who have made important contributions across media, politics, and activism. However, this proposal is centred specifically on those willing to engage with or support a People’s Assembly model of verified consent and civic-led constitutional assertion.

Over the past five years, several high-profile voices have declined to engage with this approach—or have actively sought to discredit it. We respect their right to follow their own path. But this initiative isn’t about persuading or appeasing everyone. It’s about building a sovereign platform with those who share the principles of transparency, democratic legitimacy, and constitutional clarity.

This isn’t exclusion. It’s alignment. The door remains open to anyone who respects the Assembly model and the people’s right to author their own future.
