This is the culmination of years of grassroots work—not the product of party lines or polished PR, but the gathered will, research, and lived experience of the Scottish people.
Over the last five years, this movement has pulled together thousands of hours of research, legal analysis, and democratic insight—refining it into what is now The People’s Assembly: a platform created by the people, for the people.
And that’s not just a slogan. That’s why we call it The People’s Assembly.
This isn’t a rebrand or a reset. It’s the natural evolution of the Yes movement. We’ve honoured the work that came before—built upon it, not replaced it—and now we’re inviting every campaign group, every local Yes hub, every citizen who's been waiting for a real plan… to take the next step with us.
We are launching Scotland’s first People's National Convention.
But this isn’t something we can or should do alone.
This is the point where you come in.
We’re Calling on Every Yes Group, Think Tank & Community Campaign
From policy to protests, from data to digital activism—you’ve all played your part. Now we’re asking you to step forward again.
Join us at the People’s Assembly Summit and help us transform this body of work from strategy into action. The constitutional groundwork is laid. The legal foundations are in place. What we need now is a united front to take it into the real world.
The People's Assembly draws from the collective legacy of:
Common Weal – democratic frameworks, transition plans, policy blueprints
Business for Scotland – economic independence and public outreach
Voices for Scotland – civic engagement and movement awareness
Believe in Scotland – grassroots coordination and campaigns
Scottish Independence Convention (SIC) – strategic coordination, constitutional development
Radical Independence Campaign (RIC) – people-first policies, anti-imperialism, social justice
Women for Independence – community empowerment and decentralised leadership
Progress Scotland – insight into changing public opinion and referendum strategy
Independence Live – citizen media and national coverage of grassroots events
Now Scotland – democratic renewal and mass movement building
…alongside hundreds of local Yes groups and activists across Scotland—from Shetland to Dumfries, Dundee to Skye, who’ve never stopped campaigning, never stopped believing.
Scotland’s Sovereignty & The People's Assembly: Open Call for Unity and Action
The research is done. The strategy is written. The legal case is sound.
What we need now is a mandate from the movement.
We’re extending a national invitation—not just to legal experts and researchers, but to every single Yes group, every campaigner, every thinker, organiser, and community leader.
Let’s stop waiting for permission. Let’s stop repeating the past.
Let’s meet as equals and launch a democratic convention that puts the people—not the parties—at the heart of Scotland’s future.
